MMOI
MEG Montreal OSHEAGA International (MMOI) was created to bring together members of the music industry from all over the world during the MEG Montreal and OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festivals.
From July 27 to 31, agents and promoters, managers, labels, publicity agencies and other key actors are invited to reflect and act upon ideas and opportunities in their respective professions, along with their peers.
In addition to important professional networking opportunities, expect artistic encounters as well. After all, Montreal is one of North America’s cultural pillars!
MMOI takes place in the heart of MEG’s and OSHEAGA’s programming, where more than a hundred artist will perform in the span of five days, in some of the city’s most interesting venues as well as on the unique Parc Jean-Drapeau site.
All MMOI activities and concerts will offer guests, from near and far, a festive and beneficial experience. Thanks to this annual gathering, a network spanning countries and continents will grow, sharing and developing ideas, all the while contributing to Montreal’s cultural output on an international level.
OSHEAGA
Now in its sixth year, OSHEAGA is the biggest festival of its kind in Canada. More than 70 bands perform various styles of music, from rock to hip-hop, over a 5-day period indoors as well as outdoors, at Parc Jean-Drapeau (located on the breathtaking Île Sainte-Hélène, a small island facing downtown Montreal). This, all in the unique, festive Montreal summer atmosphere.
Major international acts have played the festival, including Coldplay, The Killers, Iggy & The Stooges, Sonic Youth, The Roots, Rufus Wainwright, Arcade Fire and Weezer as well as up-and-coming indie acts such as La Roux, MGMT, The National and Coeur de pirate since its inception. The event attracts music lovers from across North America and Europe who enjoy its unique, Canadian spin on what a music festival should feel like.
Don’t miss it: July 29-31 on the island, and July 27-30 “In the City”.
